What your child does during playgroup
Each session includes music, storytelling, sensory play, movement activities and simple group games. Children move between guided activities and free exploration, with familiar routines that help them know what to expect.
Music & stories
Songs and stories introduce children to language, listening and participation in an enjoyable group setting.
Sensory & hands-on play
Simple sensory activities give children opportunities to touch, explore, experiment and engage with different materials.
Movement & group play
Movement activities and simple group games help children develop motor skills while becoming comfortable participating alongside other children.
What your child develops
At this stage, the focus is on the early skills children need to feel comfortable, communicate and participate in a preschool environment.
Early language
Songs, stories and everyday conversations with teachers give children regular opportunities to listen, understand and express themselves.
Motor skills
Movement, climbing and hands-on activities support coordination and physical development.
First social skills
Children begin learning to share, take turns and become comfortable being part of a group.
Comfort in preschool
Familiar routines and individual attention help children gradually feel safe, settled and ready to participate.
